Welcome to Markshire.

In order to make your experience on our world as enjoyable and expressive as possible we have added many haks to our module. For convenience the haks have been compiled into 3 separate auto-installation files. Click the link for each Phase to download. Follow the instructions below.

Phase 1http://www.markshire.com/downloads/markshire_phase1.exe - This file contains the original Markshire haks. These include 3 JXP tileset haks and 2 custom Markshire haks.

Phase 2http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=6211 - This is the CEP 1.52 hak. While large it installs some of the best content available to the NWN community. EDIT: The Vault version is back online so I restored the direct link to it.

Phase 3http://www.markshire.com/downloads/markshire_phase3.exe - This hak for Markshire is loaded with new Tilesets; including Dwarven Halls, Elven City, snow covered terrain and much more. It also includes over 1000 new inventory icons and a few new items. Lastly, this hak collection includes a compiled hak that puts together nearly 100 creature models and skins.

Phase 4 - http://www.markshire.com/downloads/markshire_phase4.exe - The latest hak necessary for our conversion to 1.67+ includes our custom hak which fixes a lot of crossover bugs and integrates the overrides from Helvene's Natural Caves as well as Gaoeng's Emitter Shields hak. With a little tomfoolery I even managed to sneak in a surprise.

So click away and sit back. For soon, you will enter the Kingdom of Ice.

Instructions:

Click the above links to begin downloading.

When asked where to save the download point it at your hak folder within your NWN folder.

Download all four files. (or just the last one if you played on Markshire prior to 5/16)

Once all three files are finished downloading. Double click the first phase. Please wait as the program takes time to load and it is fancy graphic free so there is nothing to tell you it is loading. Do not load any others until the first is complete.

Once you have finished installing the three phases you are ready to play.

NOTE: Those who played on our world prior to 5/16 will need to download Phase 4 only.

NOTE 2: For all those who don't have broadband internet service please contact BTP or Thrym. We can hook you up with a CD of the Haks. Please do not request this service if you do have broadband internet service.

The links and haks below are for those of you who wish to download the haks individually and install them manually.

Phase 1 Manual Downloading

Exerpts from NWVault.

Markshire Haks 1 & 2 -
http://development.fingerlakes1.com/markshire/markshire_01.rar &
http://development.fingerlakes1.com/markshire/markshire_02.rar:

The customization begins ... these haks contain quite a few loadscreens picked and made especially for Markshire.

JXP Mountains - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=1497:
This hak adds 4 new tilesets to NWN! In all they provide a fairly good transition from foothills to grassy mountain base to rocky mountains to a snowy mountain top. Try out the included demo module to see for yourself. Thanks to all of the builders who contributed to the creation of the hak. They, not I, deserve full credit for the contents of this hak. If you would like to vote for this hak than I encourage you to vote for the original content creators listed below. This is one of several haks that I will be releasing that will combine common content in a modular fashion. Meaning: each file will be intended to use as a stand-alone hak or in combination with several other builder haks. They will be updated periodically and will form the basis for my own personal NWN creations. Just thought someone else might get some use out of them.

JXP Master - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=1496:
Included in this package are several haks that will insure compatibility between common combinations of my JXP Builder haks. Not all combinations are included. That is to say I haven't created haks to support every combination. Any JXP hak will in fact work with any other JXP hak with only some minor 2da file editing. I simply put these haks together to make things a little more user friendly for the community. Also included are files to insure compatibility between my JXP Builder Series and the Elven City Tileset by Little Baron & Pogo Mudder as well as the CODI/Daggerdale Swamp Tileset by ILmaTeR. I personally will be using these two tilesets with my JXP haks so I figured I may as well release the files that make this content compatible. See the readme for complete details on how to use these files.

JXP Base - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=1492:
This hak will form the core of JXP Builder Set. It is compilation of high quality custom content that I feel complements and adds outstanding expandibility to the default tilesets. There is nothing special about this combination (except for the amazing content),it is only an effort to consolidate resources and insure compatibility. Thanks to all of the builders who contributed to the creation of this hak. They, not I, deserve full credit for the contents of this hak. If you would like to vote for this hak than I encourage you to vote for the original content creators listed below. This is one of several haks that I will be releasing that will combine common content in a modular fashion. Phase 2 Downloading:

CEP 1.52 - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=6211:
The Community Expansion Pack (CEP) provides a single, integrated source of high-quality custom content for Neverwinter Nights. The CEP gives you access to the best custom content on NWVault. Use the navigation on the left to navigate this mini section or DOWNLOAD THE CEP!

Phase 3 Manual Downloading

Exerpts from NWVault.

Markshire Hak 3 - http://www.markshire.com/downloads/markshire_03.rar:
This hak is a compilation of many different haks. A full list will be forthcoming.

JXP Forest - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=1494:
This is a combination of all of my favorite forest tileset add-ons using Na's fantastic DC Forest as a base. Also included is the Tree City Enhanced tileset by geekgirljess (modified by StoneMonkey) that gives you an opportunity to walk among the treetops. Check it out yourself by trying the included demo module. Thanks to all of the builders who contributed to the creation of this hak. They, not I, deserve full credit for the contents of this hak. If you would like to vote for this hak than I encourage you to vote for the original content creators listed below. Dwarven Halls - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=hakpaks.Detail&id=4392:
This is the Final #3 release of my Dwarven Halls Tileset. The main focus of this tileset is to display a dwarven underground settlement which looks a bit more like 'dwarfen-built' than the standard Bioware Tilesets. The walls are about double in height than in standard tilesets, since dwarves often tend to built the things a bit larger than other races. The tileset features a large variety of tiles, and some groups for your pleasure... The included Textures are DDS-only, no tgas (except the minimaps) included. If you like to have tgas, you can download the tga add-on.

Elven City - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=4852:
After 2 months of hard work, Here for your enjoyment is: The Elven City Tileset. When Bioware released its last expansion (and therefore last official tileset) I decided that the one thing missing was a grand elven citadel tileset. Many of the underdark features were perfect for 'lightening up, retexturing and de-spiking' to make elegant elven structures. This main tileset hak includes: Non-replacing Tileset, Elven-ized Doors, Minimap & edgetiles. There is a beta 'platform city/bridges' feature, also.

CFR Winter - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=3358:
This is my winter cfr with its shrunkhills add on added to it. I highly recomend using this over the other version just because all tiles have snow and i think it looks better.

Improved Gentile Hill - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=5078:
This hak is made for original DOA City/Rural Builder Base 2.1, replace some tiles of DOA and add many tiles that created by me.
Usable with any version of NWN, but DOA require 1.61 or newer.

Ketaros 1000 Icons Pack - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=hakpaks.Detail&id=5647:
Here I go again with my Icons Package, this time upgrading and having ALL bugs related with alpha channels fixed. also compatible with NO-CEP and CEP users. This pack contains: 064 - NEW BELTS - 040 - NEW BOOKS - 040 - NEW BOOTS PARTS - 066 - NEW BRACERS - 060 - NEW CLOAKS - 056 - NEW GEMS - 103 - NEW GAULTLEDS - 120 - NEW MISC MEDIUMS - 036 - NEW NECKLACES - 142 - NEW POTIONS PARTS - 101 - NEW RINGS - 124 - NEW MISC SMALLS - 005 - NEW MISC LARGES - 033 - NEW MISC TALLS - 010 - NEW TRAPS - I have upgraded mostly kind of items that didnt existed on my past version, I belive I kept my self closest as possible the NWN quality, I hope you all enjoy use it as I enjoyed to create it.

***Note for our dial up friends***

We have several comrades on dial-up connections, and the server is quite fast enough to accomodate them with pretty much minimal lag. We also know that the content haks are rather daunting for dial-up users to download.

To this end Thrym and I have decided to mail Hak Loader CDs to those truly interested in Markshire. If you find that you would like one, please PM or e-mail us with the request and where to send the CD and we will happily get it to you.

Sorry, but due to shipping cost limitations this can only be afforded to US addresses only.

Phase 4 Manual Downloading

Exerpts from NWVault.

Emitter-Based Shields - http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=hakpaks.Detail&id=6430:
Emitter-Based Shields is a set of twenty-four all new and unique shields constructed entirely out of emitters. They can be used either as mana and divine shields in hi-magic worlds or as energy and force shields in hi-tech settings. Though emitter-based, these shields are not flat. They have calculated curved surfaces like real shields and carefully layered effects to simulate depth and thickness, so they do look rather good in-game. Some of these shields may work without the expansions, but the rest draw textures from the expansion packs, and so it is recommended that you have both expansions.

Markshire 05 hak - http://www.markshire.com/downloads/markshire_05.rar:
This hak also includes the overriding TGAs from Natural Caves. They override the Caverns and Mines tileset with much more natural looking cave textures.

NOTE: Clicking PHASE 4 in the first post of this thread will download an autoinstaller that will install both of these automatically.

The tale of Markshire the Persistent World: In the process of making this Neverwinter Nights world we considered all of the aspects of the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy world we created. The world is loosely based on Norse mythology and Viking culture. The deities of this world are not intimately involved with the adventures of the various heroes. Though the majority of the populace followed Odin there were some that followed Thor, Heimdal or even Loki and Hel.
The land to the east of the Thrym Mountains was a desert of frost and snow. There lived the Frost Giants. Ruled over by Thrym, Lord of Winter, the giants patrolled the desert and sought to break through Gastlinyk Gate. Gastlinyk Gate is a great city of our little kingdom. But Stonemark was the capitol of the land.
The kingdom of Markshire is comprised of all the various races; Elven, Gnomes, Dwarven, Halflings, as well as Humans. Our campaign allowed all classes; barbarian, cleric, druid, fighter, monk, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, and wizard.
Monster galore abound Markshire. We employed monster from titans to polar and grizzly bears or strange spiders to umber hulks and ancient wyrms. If the knights and mages weren't being killed by the monsters the ice and freezing winds were sure to do it. Our death system includes a direct trip to Elvidnir instead of Valhalla. There they visit with Garm and bargain for their souls.
